Finchdean: Early morning train sequence 1 - 10
A new series of ten hand-printed monotypes each of which are unique paintings using oil on paper each painted in sequence from my drawings made in situ. These capture the early morning scene in Finchdean, Hampshire where I live, looking directly east towards the morning sunrise. These images capture the railway line and speed of passing trains which are heading to Portsmouth and London. Some of the images obviously have the train but others show only the rails and a feeling of the train having passed by. The monotypes are not mounted but could be with one or more of the other images to create a physical sequence. Each image is 205mm high x 255mm wide, printed centrally on a sheet of watercolour paper 300mm high x 400mm wide. These prints were made at the Badger Press in Bishops Waltham in April 2016.
